Mountain Vista High School Twin Senior Session at Mt Falcon West | South Denver Photographer

I love showcasing “firsts” on my Blog, and photographing twins was a “first” for me. I have never had twins as Senior clients before, but when Mom asked me, I couldn’t say no. We have known the twins for a few years as our girls cheered All Star at the same gyms, so I was honored to be a part of this special time for them. I wanted to make things easy for mom, and also for me, so we chose Mt Falcon West for both sessions and did one session in the evening (sunset) and one session the very next morning (sunrise). Although the next morning was an early wake-up call, it was worth it.

Avery, pictured above, was the lucky twin to get the evening session, ha! Mt Falcon West has the perfect variety of backdrops, which is what makes it so popular among local photographers. We timed everything perfectly so the twins could do their photos together in the white dresses in the middle of Avery’s session; and then we ended with Avery at the overlook right as the sun was setting.

Now, meet Reagan, Avery’s twin. The white dresses and mini boots they chose were just different enough from each other, but looked amazing together. For the last two Senior seasons, white has been the dress color of choice and they look so good against our colorful Colorado backdrops, especially at Mt Falcon West. We had so much fun posing these two because they are like two peas in a pod! And there is really nothing better than siblings that like and LOVE each other. I know Mom will cherish these images forever.

After having so much fun the evening before, we met up bright and early in the morning to do Reagan’s full sunrise session. Believe it or not, I have never done a sunrise session at Mt Falcon West. I tend to only do sunrise sessions out of necessity, as I like my zzzz’s in the morning, ha! I actually shot the session a bit differently, as the lighting is totally different in the morning than in the evening. We started at the overlook (instead of ending there) and found lots of amazing pockets of light peeking through areas of Mt Falcon West that I don’t typically photograph. I LOVED it!

If I have the opportunity to photography twins again, I will 100% say yes, now that I have a model that works for getting two full sessions in, plus photos together. The twins ended up at U of A, and last time I checked they were thriving. I am grateful to know them, and even more grateful that I got to be a part of their Senior year memories. Enjoy their collages! I’ll be back next month.
