Epic Senior Sessions at Local Parks by South Denver Senior Photographer

Have you ever wondered if you can have an epic Senior Session without driving 45 minutes to an hour away from home? Maybe you’re not a huge fan of being in the outdoors navigating trails, going up to higher altitudes or taking longer car drives. If that’s you, then rest assured you can still have an epic Senior Session somewhere in the city and you will be just as pleased with your image gallery as my Seniors who trek out to Morrison and other places that people go to hike, ha! I have done a few blog posts on local gardens, like Denver Botanic Gardens, and Downtown scenes, but rarely do I blog about local parks in the South Suburbs that make great locations for Senior Sessions.

Let’s start with Wallace Park in Greenwood Village. I’m not going to ever complain about going here. It’s 15 minutes away from my house and rarely do I encounter other photo sessions where we have to work around each other. Morgan, the senior below, suggested this location and after going to check it out, I knew it would work out great for a Senior Session. There are awesome walking paths, pretty trees, and cool concrete structures that make great seats for posing.

Morgan’s session was in the fall, so we still had some flowers left from summer, but we also had some pretty fall colors amongst the trees as well. And because we had some great structures to pose on, we were able to get perfect photos of Morgan with her instrument. Once I shared her session with other seniors, I knew Wallace Park would be a desirable spot for others to choose.

Leilani Lee (photo above) selected Wallace Park, but her session was the following year, and it wasn’t quite fall, so the trees didn’t have those deep fall colors yet. We still enjoyed the walkways, flowers and the cement structures, but we also hit the gorgeous weeping willow tree that is a showcase at this park. If you are a tree enthusiast at all, then you want to consider this park just to get some poses in with this tree.

Last, but not least, Saaketh’s parents chose Fly n B Park in Highlands Ranch for his Senior Session. This park is an “oldy but goody” for me, as I used to shoot here all the time when we lived on this side of town. This park has the awesome white house, high grasses during the summer and early fall, a cute little bridge, and a pond. There are a variety of backdrops at this hidden gem. It also shoots well at both sunrise and sunset. In fact, for some reason, we did Saaketh’s Senior Session at sunrise. After some yawns to start off with, we got in a groove and his session turned out amazing.

I hope this blog post has provided some reassurance that there are some great local options for Senior Sessions around the South Suburbs. I probably have plenty of other suggestions too!
