Well happy March, friends! Some parts of the country are jumping into a real spring with sunshine and blue skies and pleasant weather. We just got back from Southern California, where I experienced real spring time weather. Meanwhile, twice during the time we were away, Denver had snow - like real snow that stuck! Sooo…since we are still having snowy days, there are no trees or flowers blooming just yet. And even with no trees or flowers blooming we still have a few amazing nature location options for Spring photos. Mount Falcon West in Morrison, Colorado, is one of those amazing location options, which is why I bring to you this family of five photo session at that location.

This Mount Falcon West Family Photo session was pretty special because this sweet momma is one of my very first Denver clients. I have photographed them since she was pregnant with the youngest little lady. Since then, we have wracked up a newborn session, a nine month old session, plus three more family sessions before we made it to their final “we are leaving Colorado session”. Insert sad face here. Even though I was sad (and still miss them), I am also grateful for their support in helping me build my business, and I am so happy that they have moved to an amazing city. I’m excited to plan a visit, because who doesn’t want to visit a warm beach when you live in Colorado and it still dumps snows in March!

As we wrapped this session up, we let the girls run and play and I couldn’t help but think that Mount Falcon West screams Colorado, which is exactly what many of us want in a photo session. Heck, my family even did our last family session at Mount Falcon West, which tells you a location is amazing if your photographer wants their photo session at that location!

Your “post - photo session” homework is not done until you have the final product up on your walls, which is why this last image makes me so happy. The Lees have a beautiful, large statement piece in their family room to remind them of how special their time was in Colorado. This is what family sessions are made for!
