Downtown Littleton Urban Family Session
Colorado is known for its natural beauty, including its bright sunny skies, mountain views, and Red Rock Formations; so when you see family photo sessions being showcased, most of the time, they feature the family and one of those gorgeous elements that Colorado is known for. I love those natural elements as much as the next photographer, but a couple of years ago, I got out of my comfort zone and did an Urban family photo session with a family of 6 in Downtown Denver and I loved every minute of it! (even when I fell in a pothole and skinned my knee). Since then, I have had more families request an Urban family photo session, because they want to do something different and I am all for it!
For my South Suburban Denver friends, that don't want to drive into Downtown Denver, Downtown Littleton is a great option for a family photo session, and that's exactly where I met my friends, the G family! I was pumped to have them in front of my camera, because they are friends from our old neighborhood, that we absolutely love and we just don't get to see them enough! Their outfits were perfect, especially Mom's maxi dress. I ran into another photographer while we were shooting and she later messaged me, saying, "That dress; all the heart eyes in the world"! I started this Urban family photo session, as I always do, with the oldest daughter! They are always naturals in front of the camera. So here we go!
Big sister has lots of personality, and little sister is not far behind with those dimples! Once we got her warmed up in front of the camera, we were able to move on to the family shots. Dads, please take note, how amazing it is when you all smile! Dad's smile was everything and it really showed how proud he is of his gorgeous family!
On another note, the one thing I can always count on for an Urban family photo session is the variety in backdrops. From the aqua door, to the art murals, to the red brick wall; all the backgrounds complimented their outfits perfectly!
If you've read my blog for any amount of time, you know that no family session of mine is complete without some images of just Mom and Dad; and they are always some of my favorites of the session.
Hopefully I have convinced you to mix up your family sessions a little bit by choosing to have an Urban family photo session as opposed to a session in the Great Outdoors of Colorado! At the very least, we know we won't have to keep our eyes opened for wildlife while we're shooting, haha!
