Cherokee Trail High School Senior Session | South Mesa Trailhead in Boulder
I can’t believe we have almost made it through the 2020/2021 school year and it is time to start celebrating my seniors!!!! None of us could imagine what getting through this year would take, but these seniors did it, and they did it with resilience, and grace and humor, and all the things that will get them through this crazy thing called life!
First up is Cherokee Trail High School Senior, Ms. Camy. I met Camy recently through competitive cheer (not really hard to believe since our life is quite consumed with the sport) and I then had the privilege to photograph her this past summer at South Mesa Trailhead in Boulder. I rarely photograph in Boulder, so it was fun to explore a new location. And as the saying goes, “It is all fun and games until a hiker tells you to be careful up the trail because there was a rattlesnake spotted about 1/4 mile up.” Ummm yep, nope…That actually happened when I went to check the location out prior to our session. I’m happy to report, we had an amazing session with no snakes joining us for any photos!
One thing that is super special about Camy being a Cherokee Trail High School grad is that my very first senior client here in the Denver area, almost 7 years ago, was a Cherokee Trail High School Senior so I feel like I have come full circle.
Camy is funny and smart, pretty and stylish and a super hard worker - all the things I was aiming to be when I was a senior. I may have succeeded at everything but the style part, haha. These days you have to be a hard worker inside and outside the classroom to prepare for your future and Camy’s NCA jacket is evidence of her hard work outside of the classroom. NCA is one of the most prestigious cheer competitions in the country and winning a division at NCA as a high level cheerleader is a very difficult feat. But Camy and her team did it (in fact she now has two NCA jackets, which is even more rare to achieve as a competitive cheerleader).
Congratulations Camy. I’m certainly wishing you all of the good things as you head into this next phase of your journey. Hopefully we will get to see you during your visits home from college!
