Ya'll, I've been on a blogging roll lately (this is a rare occurrence, FYI), and I am bringing you another amazing extended family session in the Ken Caryl Valley of Littleton, Colorado.  The previous extended family session I blogged was a "just because everyone was home" session, and in contrast, this session was celebrating the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Mom and Dad.  I met this family through another photographer; yes not all of us are competitive and we share leads all the time, and I was so excited about photographing a 50th Wedding Anniversary as that is an accomplishment that is pretty rare these days.  All 3 siblings and their families were there to celebrate, plus the cute little dog!                            

We started off by capturing the entire family, and then moved on to the reason for the celebration - Mom and Dad.  And yes, that's what I call them during the session, because I can!  I let their kids pose them, because they know them best, and I love what they came up with! We then added in their 3 kids because no matter how old you are, you always want an updated family photo with your immediate family. 

Next up was the grandkids.  You have already heard my spiel about how important nurturing this relationship is for your kids.  I could tell by how much the kids wanted to be near grandma and grandpa that the families had really nurtured this relationship, as well as the relationship between the cousins. 

We then moved farther into South Valley Park to take advantage of the Red Rocks formations, which in my opinion is one of the most beautiful features of Colorado.  And that's where we were able to capture each of the individual families with grandma and grandpa. 

Finally, we ended the session with the 3 siblings and their spouses.  Even though one sibling lived out of the country, I could see that these siblings have maintained a close relationship that they have passed down to their children.

And no session is complete without an all family jumping photo!  I decided to have Mom and Dad take it easy and just put their arms in the air while everyone else jumped for joy, and it came out perfect!  A 50th Wedding Anniversary is definitely worth jumping for joy!  We had so much fun during this session that I smiled most of the time I was editing it.
